    Hi everyone,

I’m new here and not really sure how to start this. I’ve been going through a lot lately…….depression and constant anxiety that make even simple things feel overwhelming. I really want to find a healthy distraction, something that can take me out of my own head for a while, and I thought maybe reading could be that for me.

The challenge is, I don’t know where to begin. I get anxious just looking at really thick books because I worry I’ll never commit to finishing them, so I avoid starting at all. Still, I’d love to begin with something smaller but meaningful books that can shift my perspective, make me think, or help me in any way (mentally).

I don’t have many friends or social life, so I’m hoping reading might give me not just a distraction, but maybe a sense of connection too. If anyone has suggestions for short but powerful reads, I’d be so grateful.

    Thank you for listening…….

First recommendation I always give people trying to get into reading is to get a library card. This way you can give the book back to the library and pick a different one if you don’t like it, whitout having spent any money on the book.

What kind of movies/TV shows do you enjoy? This way we can give you more targeted recommendations. Do you like thrillers, crime, fantasy, science-fiction, documentaries, romance, ect.?
