I'm reading "Blood Meridian" and I've pretty much accepted that I can't look up every word or I'll lose the flow. Are readers split into two camps where some of us love to explore language and new words and some of us just want to unravel the yarn? I simply can't imagine writing a novel so full of obscure words that people have to stop to look them up at least once per paragraph. It seems inefficient.
