RJB stands for Robert Jackson Bennet — book like The Foundryside, The Divine Cities and most recently The Tainted Cup and A Drop of Corruption.
What I love about all these is the world building, in particular — how there’s one very big thing that’s different from our world (what if pagan gods were real and we killed them? what if the reality can be programmed? what if there are giant kaiju coming from the sea every year with magic blood?), and then it influence the whole world — every small detail in this world, down to the way how there’s lights work, or how people build houses, or move around. And all of these is logically expressed and makes sense within the world, and you are like “of course they do it that way, given how their world is!”
So yeah, basically books with this feeling.

Check out The Broken Earth by N.K. Jemisin or The Craft Sequence by Max Gladstone-both have that big “what if” twist that shapes the whole world like RJB’s books.
