I’ve read a ton of Agatha Christie and love her mastery of misdirection and twisty plots. But I’m looking for something more modern — ideally post-2000 — that still delivers that same “wait… WHAT just happened?” feeling, and that famous "I knew it was him! (I actually had no idea)."
I’m craving a murder mystery or thriller that’s actually mind-blowing. Not just a twist for shock value, but something that recontextualizes the whole story in a clever, satisfying way. Bonus points if the writing is sharp and the characters feel real.
If you’ve read something that made you sit back and say “I need to talk to someone about this ending,” I want to hear about it.
Thanks in advance — I’m ready to be messed with.
