What book made you feel detached from your reality? That made immersing yourself into the book so hard you forgot you were reading a book. For example, seven years of darkness made me feel this way. ( and Not midnight library please) any genre! Thank you so much!

the dark tower series, by stephen king. the first one is a drag ngl, but it’s also short. the story gets good in book two. the series was such an awesome, fun, and meaningful reading experience
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. The book had a real hypnotic quality to it. Like nothing I’ve read before or since
the wind up bird chronicle
dune series: first is a certified classic, then it just gets weirder and weirder and weirder.
The hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy
Hyperion if you haven’t read it yet. Excellent story about a world (Hyperion) at the “outback” of the universe experiencing a lot of attention all of a sudden as the core solar systems begin to contemplate an existential war between “the ousters” and potentially even their AI technocore.
