Last year I read Headshot by Rita Bullwinkel and loved it. This year I read Reservoir Bitches by Dahlia de la Cerda and I'm pretty confident that this is a new all time favorite book. Both used fragmented narratives and shifting perspectives to explore intense emotions and are anti-establishment. Reservoir Bitches is much darker and sadder than Headshot, but both of these books were dark and emotional.
I'd love recommendations for more books that feel punk. The books don't have to center women, though it's great if they do.
Books on my wishlist that I think will be similar (haven't read them so no idea really):
-Unfit by Ariana Harwicz
-Elegy for the Undead by Matthew Vesely

Martin Millar’s go-to protags are squatters failing to be in a band. His most ‘him’ book is Ruby and the Stone Age Diet, which follows a squatter who is constantly drugged by his roomie (this cause a very fractured narrative) and mostly he is just waiting for a cactus to bloom so that his ex-girlfriend will take him back.
For one with a female lead, there’s Dreams of Sex and Stage Diving.
Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl by Carrie Brownstein
Comemadre, by Roque Larraquay
