Looking for recommendations on your favorite novels set in the far North. Snowy places. Maybe Iceland, or Canada, or Norway, or even Maine? I'm just interested in the setting, and some drama.
That kind of setting transports me out of my existing environment, and I'm looking for a good reading escape ☺️

The Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson, beginning with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Set in Sweden.
Through Black Spruce
Moon of the crusted snow is terrific. By an Indigenous author. There’s a follow up book now too but I haven’t read it yet
Lost in the Barrens by Farley Mowat. Survival in the Arctic Circle. Amazing book
Smilla’s Sense of Snow
Independent People
Burial Rites
The Summer Book (not so much drama)
Split Tooth by Tanya Tagaq
You’ll find exactly what you’re looking for from novels by Arnaldur Indriðason.
I just finished last month “We Die Alone”, by David Howarth. It is a true story account of an incredible escape in northern Norway during WWII. Really interesting for its details on managing how to survive.
