Any books out there with funny themes? Looking for something that can make me smile and laugh because life kind of sucks right now. I'm really not interested in comedian biographies or anything of that nature. I'm looking for an actual story with moments of laughter. I know this is kind of vague, so I'm open to any suggestions you may have.

    1. I’ve found the “new” comedy writers aren’t really all that funny. To each their own. Catch-22 is a classic, anything by Kurt Vonnegut, early Chuck Palahniuk, Tortilla Flat by Steinbeck is great.

    2. Ilona Andrews Innkeeper Chronicles –A magic Inn, space werewolves and vampires, a lot of really unique aliens, mystery, romance, action, a fun and humorous series

Jana DeLeon Miss Fortune series and Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich are both laugh out loud light mysteries.

    3. The hitchhiker ‘s guide to the galaxy by Douglas Adams, phule’s company by Robert asprin

terry pratchet books are pretty funny, great expectations by charles dickens is a combination of bleak and sardonic but also funny and ridiculous, not the best thing if you want something lighthearted but it depends on what you’re looking for, the village of stepanchikovo by dostoevsky is kind of the same.

i feel like a lot of contemporary romances are funny just because the characters tend to be a bit stupid so it’s fun to make fun of them, and most of the stories are pretty light.
