I've read a few hundred books probably. A lot when I was younger and in school. Most of my adult life I have read only Stephen King, and occasionally picked up books by authors idk. Basically my library consists of 100s of SK, a David Gemmel I enjoyed, Velocity by Dean Koontz, some Clive Cussler and childhood books I still enjoy. Cornelia Funke books, Spiderwick series, Lemony Snicket and Brian Jacques Redwall series. You can probably tell when I was in middle school lol.
Guess I mostly stuck to Stephen King, because he was an adult author I knew and I loved all of his books. It doesn't have to be horror though which is partly why I am here. Idk anyone but SK, DK, Clive Cussler and David Gemmel aside from the authors I grew up reading! At that I've only read 1 book each by all but SK.
Just throw some stuff at me please. Treasure hunting, mystery, whatever.
Some books that hit the spot for me before. Velocity, Mr. Mercedes, Dragon Rider, The Thief Lord, Redwall, Island of the Blue Dolphins and my favorite of all time period. The Dark Tower series.

A few of the books I’ve read recently :
Clara & Olivia by Lucy Ashe,
Remote Sympathy by Catherine Chidgey,
Fifty Fifty by Eddie Flynn,
Just about anything by Simone St James
The Sun Down Motel and Silence for the Dead are my favorites by her.
If you want something funny I suggest Christopher Moore. I love A Dirty Job but all of his books are really good.
The Ghosts of Thorwald Place by Helen Power is a mystery ghost story told from the victims perspective. It’s well written and keeps you guessing til the end.
If you’re in the mood for heartwarming story check out books by Frederick Backman. My favorite is Britt Marie Was Here. A Man Called Ove is a close second.
Give the Joey Finch series by Peter J Woods a run. Great read.
I loved Cornelia Funke books as a kid. I especially liked Inkheart because the idea of going into my favourite books sounded amazing to me. If you liked those too then you might like the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde. The first book is called The Eyre Affair and features Jane Eyre being kidnapped out of her book and the main character, Thursday, has to help fix things and it involves travelling inside fiction. Tbh I love all his books and recommend him generally as an author.
You mentioned the thief lord too and I loved that one as well. I liked the gently magical vibe without it being too fantastical. On this line I’d suggest you might enjoy either The Toymakers or Paris by Starlight, both by Robert Dinsdale.
