Hello, tomorrow I'll be meeting with a friend of mine and we would like to read a short story or a novella (under 50 pages would be great) and discuss it afterwards.
We've done this once already and we chose a short stories collection, chose one and layed down in the park. We read until one of us wanted to comment on the story and then we kept reading. It was nice and fun, we would like to try it again tomorrow if the sun will decide to join us.
The genre is not important as me and her like different things lol and the purpose is not to find something we'll like but simply something to talk about and chill. It can be a romance, a fantasy, a sci-fi, a splutterpunk, etc… feel free to suggest whatever 🫶

All the Broken Blades, by Y.M. Pang. Collection of dark fantasy short stories. Won an award for best fantasy in Canada.
The book Demonology, by Rick Moody, has a number of longer and shorter stories that I think might be perfect for something like this. The first story, The Mansion on the Hill, was I thought the best story, and it’s exactly 50 pages. Lots to talk about, very unforgettable.
