Hey all,
I’d rather not trauma dump in a Reddit post and I’m not here for any medical advice nor am I in any danger (figured I’d clarify this first). With that being said I’ve been struggling lately with grief/loss. Been dealing with unmedicated depression/anxiety for a couple years now and do not have access to therapy/psychiatry.
With that being said, I’m looking for books that help navigate these specific emotions (loss/grief). I was never taught how to properly deal with grief and sadness in my youth. Recently dealing with the loss of a pet and how unfair it is whilst also understanding that that is life and only time will heal. I don’t have a good relationship with family and can’t really depend on them for emotional support. I’m working my way to getting the mental health help I actually need but am looking to self help books to help in the meantime. I turned to stoicism for a while and realized while it can be a helpful philosophy, I prefer to care more about people/things even if what happens is out of my control. I just want to learn how to navigate these emotions better.

Portions of these books may be helpful, but there is some material that could be triggering, so definitely read reviews first.
