Hi guys, I have admired Stephen King’s books for a while now. I have not had the time to read through his books though. I only know of his work through movie titles and just basic talks and discussions about it online. I was looking to buy one of his books on my Kobo Clara to read and start off my journey in his world of books.
The question is: which one would you guys recommend to start with? I’ve seen a “Three Classic Novel” set with the titles ”Carrie, Salems Lot and The Shining”. Should I just start from there or do you guys suggest a different starting point?

I am also open to random suggestions.
I love myself a thriller with suspense and nail biting drama. My description can be very general but I still am not really good at identifying which direction I want go in within this genre.
I love King! I would start with Misery. It’s a bit shorter than some of his others and it’s just a lot of fun.
The 3 novels you mentioned are his 1st 3, and a reasonable place to start. If you are looking for less horror-focused but still a thriller, I’d recommend “11/22/63”. If you want more literary King try the Novella collection “Different Seasons”
Under the Dome is pretty great.
