1984 was one of the very first “banned books” that I read & it opened my mind so much that I want to read more!
I also have:
• Animal Farm
• Brave New World
• A Clockwork Orange
• Fahrenheit 451
• The Handmaids Tale
• Little Brother
• Memory Police
• Slaughterhouse Five
Suggest me some please!
(Currently not interested in “LGBTQ+ books)

Maus-a survivor’s tale. In today’s rather nazi-esque landcape, it’s very on point. It’s technically a graphic novel, but it sticks with you.
The Bluest Eye
Huckleberry Finn
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Explain what you are looking for, please. Why not some genres? In Canada some LGBTQ+ books have received awards at the highest level.
I’m talking about one such book, The Wars by Timothy Findley, which received the Governor General’s Literary Award. It was challenged by a school board. (They lost).
What’s going on with you?
