i used to be a big reader as a kid but fell out of it in my teen years, and now i want to start reading again.
i only read some of the books we had to analyze for school projects and the ones that always stuck out to me were those with very in-depth exploration of characters, mostly Kafka, Camus, Dostoevsky.
it's been a while since i read their works however i am familiar with Metamorphosis, The Stranger, a bit of Crime And Punishment, and any of their more well known works. right now i have The Castle by Kafka and i'm planning to read it this week. you can still give me reasons as to why you think i should read the ones i already mentioned (cause again – i really don't remember much), and anything similar.
feel free to go all out with your reasons for liking your recs, any symbolism you've noticed, or themes of the books (since i definitely do need a bit of convincing to start reading something) but please avoid major spoilers or plot twists – if there's any. thank you!
