I’ve been reading Crisis in the Red Zone which is a very emotional read about the 2014 Ebola crisis and I’m looking for other non fiction books with a similar feel, I do like a medical theme but doesn’t have to be. I have also read and enjoyed Into Thin Air, When Breath Becomes Air and the Indifferent Stars Above

In My Hands by Irene Gut Opedyke is about a Polish girl (17ish) who helps save several Jews from extermination by the Nazis. She’s definitely a woman who responded in a crisis.
A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah
My Name Is Baseball available on Amazon. It’s about the author’s son who was suffering from depression but his dad didn’t believe in mental health. It wasn’t until his son took his own life that it changed for him. This is a real and touchy story. The author did a good job telling the story from both sides. Read the overview for more information.
