I tried to cram the basic information In the title as much as possible.
I am basically looking for a mature/adult (no erotic meaning) themed book that is written in modern times (not in the mood for classics at this time).
It should have well written characters that are realistic, good dialogue and an overarching big story with higher stakes.
Genre wise I prefer suspense, thrilling and/or gripping stories, sci-fi is also good. Just not Fantasy or Romance.
I am not looking for light hearted books, they can have those as little moments of course but it shouldn't be a Project Hail Mary for example.
I don't care how long the book is, just not too short.
And if it is a series, let it be finished an second of all, it should have a clear overarching story and not be a "case of the book" detective type of story.
