A book that brings back these memories or reminds you of the following feelings:

    – on a vacation, waking up before anyone else has, sitting alone in the kitchen/living room when the sky is just becoming light, a sleepy but charged excitement before the day begins and you go exploring a new place.

    – 3 am at a gas station on a road trip.

    – the last 10 minutes before the school bell rings to let you out on the final day before vacation when all teaching has already stopped and you and your classmates are just having a fun time chatting and packing your backpacks in anticipation of the fun things you will do in the holidays (or just looking forward to sleeping in the next morning because there's no school).

It's not necessary that the plot or stories have the same scenarios as above, just the general vibe that I described.

I'm on bed rest with fever and just recharged my Kindle. Excited to find some gems of recommendations! Thanks in anticipation 🙂

Try Piranesi by Susanna Clark. It doesn’t have any of these scenarios, but it has that beautiful, silent, anticipatory vibe.

Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson. It’s a book I first read as a kid but still dearly love and reread to this day. The first prompt reminds me of it.
