Just finished this book in 4 days and I couldn't stop compulsively reading/thinking about it. Mind you, I'm a very slow reader, so this is exceptionally rare for me. This is one of the best books I've ever read.
Please suggest books that have one (or ideally many) of the following. Bolded items are most prioritized.
- Nonlinear plot
- Like FGT, present can move linearly while past flashbacks are nonlinear, or vice versa
- Short chapters
- Set in rural America (South, Appalachia, just somewhere that we don't typically read about)
- Queer, ideally sapphic-ish!
- Multi-generational family saga and/or found family elements
- Sense that you piece together the timeline of events/plot throughout the book rather than having everything spelled out explicitly
- Comedic/off beat humor
I know Fannie Flagg has tons of other books, but I'm at a loss of where to start or which books are most notable. Any help with her backlist is also appreciated!
