Please suggest me a book that is compelling until the end with maybe a lot of tension, suspense, or a plot twist. I’ve been having such a hard time staying hooked on a book!
I love sci-fi/ dystopian literature in all its forms but generally will read any fiction as long as it’s not romantic.
My most recent reads are: “1984” for the first time (didn’t read it in high school), “The Wall” by Marlen Haushofer, short stories “The Color Out of Space” by HP Lovecraft, and “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream” by Harlan Ellison, and the original Spanish texts of “Tender Is the Flesh” by Agustina Bazterrica and “100 Years of Solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
I currently have “Annihilation” by Jeff VanderMeer on the way, but I’m looking for another couple of recommendations ((:

Try Into Thin Air. Not much of a plot twist. The author tells you what’s going to happen in the first paragraph. True story. An Everest expedition gone sideways. You’ll reach a point where you won’t put the book down. Not that long either.
The Road.
FUP by Jim Dodge. It’s short, in fact it’s more a story than a book. It’s interesting and keeps your interest.
It’s nonfiction, but American Radical by Tamer Elnoury will have you on the edge of your seat once you get past the section about his early life.
Code Name: Pale Horse by Scott Payne is also nonfiction and very suspenseful as he talks about each case.
Neuromancer.
Brave New World.
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
The Talisman.
Armor – John Steakley
Red rising trilogy is amazing, if you like dystopia you’ll love it
