Somehow I don’t have any books at the top of my queue right now which is rare! I typically go for fantasy/dystopia/sci-fi. Added bonus if there’s some romance and spice added in but not necessary.
Not a fan of typical romance novels (think Colleen Hoover/Emily Henry – hate these). I can sometimes do a thriller. No mysteries unless they’re something really special (traditional mysteries are boring imo).
Some books I’ve read recently that I’ve enjoyed: Red Rising, The Knight and the Moth, Blood Over Bright Haven, Lucy Undying, The Foxglove King, Bride (Ali Hazelwood), Her Majesty’s Royal Coven…. I could go on. But there’s a taste of my preferred genres.

I wrote a sci-fi thriller with a little bit of spice in it its not out yet but you can have a copy if you like
my characters arc (sacrifice, resistance, moral decay) shares DNA with Darrow from *Red Rising* and the tragic drive of protagonists in *Lucy Undying*. In the same emotional register (in the survival through corruption vein) but expressed through dystopian realism, rather than hero myth or romantic fantasy.
also themes of body positivity/ imperfect bodies
Editing is going on now so I wont be releasing it for a while but it may tick your boxes
The Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Wither, Uglies, Brave New World, 1984.
I just finished Sycthe by Neal Shusterman and I would definitely recommend it, basically technology has progressed to the point where humans are immortal and so for population control they have people called scythes who are elected to kill people, some cool commentary on society and life in general. And a little romance
The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson – sci-fi dystopia about a woman whose job is to travel to parallel universes to gather info and scout things for her universe to steal.
The Last Unicorn
The Book of Joan
