I just finished A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen, and it got me thinking about books set in cultures or time periods that had little to no written history. Societies we mostly know about through archaeology instead of their own records.
I’m especially interested in settings that feel Stonehenge-ish: early Brittanic or European agricultural communities, or even hunter-gatherer societies. I’d also be open to slightly later eras, like the early Middle Ages, as long as the culture itself didn’t leave much written history.
I’m most drawn to Eurasian settings, but am open also. I'd really like stories that explore the mysticism, spirituality, or shamanistic aspects of the culture (but it doesn’t have to be the main focus).
I usually enjoy strong female leads, but I’m open to anything well written. Fantasy elements like magic, romance, and a sense of adventure are all pluses, but not necessary… What do you all recommend?

You’re pretty much looking for the Clan of the Cave Bear, but only the first three books since the quality takes a nosedive after that.
