I just finished The Lincoln Highway and absolutely loved it. What really stuck with me was the brotherhood and friendship between the characters, the sense of adventure and movement across 1950s America, and that nostalgic, reflective tone Towles captures so well.
I loved the slower pace — it felt patient, thoughtful, and full of atmosphere. I’m open to stories told from one perspective or many, as long as they have rich characters, a strong sense of place, and that feeling of a journey — physical or emotional.
Any recommendations that capture a similar spirit or tone?
Thanks in advance!
