For context – I was meh about East of Eden. The writing was good but I think due to the older, classic feel it did not capture me so deeply. I loved some proses, the characters were okay and overall I give it a 3/5

I read 11/22/63 this week and I cannot stop thinking about it. I need to feel that again, I need another all time favourite book after this one and according to reddit Lonesone Dove keeps coming up. I just am worried to try another long book, a classical one. I love family sagas – Panchiko, Homegoing are some of my favs as well! Any input on this will help!

I’ve read all three – LD, East of Eden and 11/22/63. I loved them all. I do recognise what you’re saying about E of E though and though the content is different, i do feel there’s a similarity of style between LD and E of E.
As a suggestion, I’m currently reading The Godfather by Mario Puzo and it’s absolutely fantastic, so maybe something like that may suit?

    2. Do you enjoy period pieces? LDS was beautifully written and the first book is extremely engaging. I finished Shogun and went straight into LDS and it filled the void nicely.

I’m actually coincidentally reading East of Eden again and I would say I enjoyed LDS more so I’d give it a go.
