So I’ve taken a break from reading fiction this year, and have been focussing more on self-help and non-fiction books including history, philosophy and a couple of biographies; and I find myself wanting to get back into reading fiction.
But where do I start?
Standing in the fiction department of my local book shop, I find myself staring at the shelves for an hour unable to choose or engage with anything; only seeing the books I wish I could read for the first time again. Maybe the mistake I made was getting too into certain authors and reading everything they wrote, or too into certain styles.
I know this is a vague question, but how should I get back into reading fiction? Just a little worried, as this is my hobby and I’m not sure I’ll be able to get back into it in the same way.

The Martian by Andy Weir is a perfect, fast-paced read to get you hooked on fiction again.
