Okay, so I’ve been reading a bunch of books lately and honestly… they’ve all been just fine. Like, not bad, but nothing that really grabbed me or made me think “wow, I can’t stop reading this.”
So I’m curious, what’s the last book you’d give a solid 5/5? The kind that totally sucked you in, made you stay up way too late, or left you just kinda staring at the wall after finishing it.
I’m open to pretty much any genre (except maybe super-heavy romance lol), but I do tend to love stuff with a darker or more mysterious vibe.

Currently reading the secret history. That one will def get 5 stars but you probably know it already.
I reread the discovery of heaven lately and liked it as much as the first time. It’s kinda strange and I’ve never seen it mentioned here.
Project Hail Mary as of recent
I’m in a similar boat! But the last 5 star reads for me were The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and Beautyland by Marie-Helene Bertino.
Honourable mentions also to Lola in the Mirror by Trent Dalton and The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley!
Last year, The Safekeep and Station Eleven were two standouts for me.
Broken earth trilogy by NK Jemisin. Reread it this year and it was just as spectacular a second time around
I finished Lonesome Dove yesterday. It was incredible.
The Last by Hanna Jameson, described as On the Beach meets Agatha Christie, if you want something recent.
The Magus by John Fowles, for my all time favourite novel.
My latest 5 star was 11.22.63 by Stephen King. Very gripping, I was completely immersed in it
Have you read Endurance?
