I’m not entirely sure what I’m looking for. With the world feeling so heavy I’m looking for a book that gives a new perspective and some hope. Maybe something similar to Man’s search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. I’m open to any genre of book and any topics. I guess logically I know that there has always and will be evil in the world and am looking for a reminder or proof that goodness prevails but through the form of a book. I realize this is very niche but also vague.

If you’re open to very long books, I highly recommend [The Hands of the Emperor](https://share.google/ID8EUnwDjqkoB35LB) by Victoria Goddard! It’s a beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships.

It’s like if the vibe of The Great British Bake Off were a short scifi novel. And it has a sequel!
