Just finished Careless People and literally couldn't put the book down. I found the real-world application very interesting, likely because I'm involved with tech and the subject matter was recent. I'm looking for my next book and wanted to share what I've read this year to help guide suggestions.
Overall, I try to pick books that are a 'distraction' from everyday life, and learning about new things helps keep my brain sharp. As you can see by this sequence, there really isn't a rhyme or reason for which book is chosen after the other.
the rise and fall of dinosaurs – steve brusatte
uncommon grounds – mark pendergrast
strange glow – victor jorgensen
the mind of the raven – bernd heinrich
beaverland – leila philip
braiding sweetgrass – robin wall kimmerer
the ghost map – steven johnson
Generally, not interested in any fiction. Would also like to stay away from American history.
