I started my spooky season binge a little too early and accidentally ended up in a slump and now nothing is hitting right.
Some of my 5 star reads include:
– The Martian
– Nothing to See Here
– You Weren't Meant to be Human
– Vampires of El Norte
– Slewfoot
– Jurassic Park
– Mistborn
– The Dresden Files Series
(And before anyone suggests it, I've already read Piranesi, and Dungeon Crawler Carl. I DNF'd murderbot. I know those are favorites for this sub)
Horror is my typical genre but I need some not horror right now. I don't like Romantasy/ Romance, or whodunit/mystery. Please give me some suggestions!!

Holes by Louis Sachar. Perfect length. Perfectly written
The hike – Drew Magary got me out of my last years slump. Fun fantasyish odyssey adventure
Cursed bread – Sophie mackintosh, horror adjacent historical fiction. Very fun and fast paced
McGlue – Ottessa Moshfegh, short and fun, also fast paced, Moshfeghs usual gross style
I’m also a huge horror fan, so these are my outside of horror loves
