Hey all, first time poster here. I’ve typically only ever read self improvement, history or historical accounts, or work related books, but I’m looking to venture into some fiction books for fun reading. Ideally I’m looking for books geared towards adults i’m also in my 30’s if that helps at all. Every time I google suggestions I feel like I always get books geared towards kids/teenagers or all of the currently popular “smut” books that all of the ladies are raving about lately. So what would you all suggest for a guy? Thank you in advance!

Try the Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. A novelistic account of the battle of gettysburg
Chain gang all stars or project Hail Mary.

The murderbot series by Martha Wells
Good omens by Terry Pratchett
Project Hail Mary
Red rising
The devils
Dungeon crawler Carl
The lies of Locke Lamora
Blood over bright haven
Mistborn era 1 (my Roman Empire of book series)
The murderbot diaries
The name of the wind
The six of crows duology
My go to reccomendation, especially if you have any interest in history -in particular WW2- is the Bernie Gunther series by Philip Kerr!
It’s about a German detective during Hitler’s time in power (though it also covers the Weimar Republic and the Cold War) who tries to hold on to his morals and be true to himself without also being killed for being a dissident. Bernie is a badass who cracks both cases and skulls, hates Nazis, and loves the ladies. Fourteen books so you’ll have plenty to read.
Tom Hanks is making an adaptation for Apple TV+ starring River from Slow Horses.
