Suggest me some lesser known true crime or investigative journalism books please. Ideally, long & also available as an audiobook.
Preferably books that aren’t often saturating most posts here. Also really like non fiction espionage and have read all of Ben Maintyre’s works. Anything along these lines also welcome. Thanks in advance
If you enjoy crime novels with a historical angle, ‘The Alienist’ by Caleb Carr is a recommendation I give for its atmospheric depiction of 19th century New York City. The novel’s blend of historical detail and a riveting hunt for a serial killer makes for an engrossing read.

*The Dark Side of Camelot* by famed investigative journalist Seymour Hersh spotlighted clandestine spy games during the Kennedy administration, including plots to assassinate Fidel Castro. (Hersh’s journalism in the 70s helped trigger congressional reforms to the CIA). In *The Dark Side of Camelot*, published in the 90s, Hersh took aim at the myths that built the Kennedy dynasty.
