I used to believe there was always a third connection between us and God — some unseen hand that guides everything. Looking back, that was foolish. "Sapiens" by Yuval noah Harrari completely changed that perspective. It taught me to think more coherently, more logically, and to let go of the overreliance on divine forces.
From being stuck in a meaningless job, I slowly worked my way up through effort, learning, and persistence. The ideas from Sapiens stayed with me throughout — that there is no external savior, no invisible script, just us and our choices. I realized that if I wanted to move ahead, I had to do it myself. And I did.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t believe in God — faith works differently for everyone. But for me, understanding who we are and why we are here, through the lens of Sapiens, made all the difference.
TLDR: Sapiens changed my perspective, made me more pratical and help me do good in life.

Good on you. Religion does not have to be a binding force on your life.
I agree with religious smoke and mirrors thing definitely. As for us and our decisions, you might want to try Richard Dawkins, The Selfish Gene’ as after that you’ll be left wondering if we really had any choice at all..
