Hi! My mom has been running out of books, we’re struggling to find some that fit the criteria she has for reading them. If anyone has any recommendations that align with most or all of the following points, please tell me! Thank you!
-nothing explicitly sexual
-no abuse of any kind
-nothing romance focused (any other genre is fine)
-preferably a series
-not Christian centered
-not stressful or too sad
-little to no violence

Do you have any examples of series she’s enjoyed?
If she’s looking for something light I recommend Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series. If she’s into mysteries that are more cozy Sue Grafton’s alphabet series is enjoyable (sadly she never made it to Z).
My mother in law loves all the books by Jodi Picoult. Might want to check out some of her works.
Terry Pratchett’s Discworld is a good one. It’s fantasy but relatively lighthearted. No explicit sex or much violence and it’s widely available at libraries. Maybe start with “Wyrd Sisters” or “Guards! Guards!” and see if she likes it. (Do NOT start with the first two books, they’re not like the rest of the series and the books do NOT need to be read in order)
Also the Aunt Dimity series by Nancy Atherton. The first book has romance but the rest are just cozy mysteries.
The cat who series by Lillian Jackson Braun maybe
Richard Osman’s Thursday Murder Club series
Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto
Dial A For Aunties series by Jesse Q Sutanto
Anything by Agatha Christie, and if she hasn’t read her, I think she’d love them and bonus there are dozens of them
If she likes Agatha Christie, then, Ruth Rendell’s Inspector Wexford series
