I am the OP of the post linked below having asked about classic literature and how imperative it is to the general populace that a writer reads some of the works that have stood the test of time. After viewing the replies and speaking with some of the commenters, I see that it’s definitely something I should invest my time in. So, I’ve come back to ask for some beginner-friendly recommendations.

I’ve been looking at the following:

-Jane Austen (any, I’m not certain. I know Pride and Prejudice is the most known)
    – Dracula by Brom Stoker
    – Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
    – The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas père
    – The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
    – The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe

For a bit of context: I’m a fantasy writer, who mainly focuses on horror-esc plotlines, Urban plotlines, and romantic subplots.
