Hello everyone! I run a MS and HS church youth group for a PCUSA church (very progressive, social justice oriented, LGBTQIA+ friendly, etc) and just secured some grant funding to build up the youth group library. Looking for age-appropriate books on relationships with friends and family, race, gender/sexuality, the experience of Indigenous folks, wellness (physical & emotional), the environment, as well as titles on Christianity and spirituality (with a progressive lens please- I don’t to imbue these kids with shame, fear, or self hatred). I would prefer to purchase mostly fiction books, but above all, I want these books to be enjoyable, easy to digest, and fit into one of these above categories. I’ve been doing a ton of my own research but I would love more recommendations if you’ve got them☺️ Thanks!
