Hi! I’ve recently gotten back into reading and I’d like to dive into some classics. The thing is, I’m a bit emotionally bruised right now relationship-wise so I’m looking for something that isn’t too sad or focused on love and relationships.
I recently read Stoner by John Williams and absolutely loved it, but it completely broke me.
Some of my other favorites (that could be considered classics?) are Solaris, Lolita, The Witcher series, 1984 (and Orwell in general), Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, A Song of Ice and Fire, Fahrenheit 451, The Stranger (and Camus as a whole), Candide, Lord of the Flies, Hunger, Brave New World, Flowers for Algernon, Crime and Punishment, and Slaughterhouse-Five.
I haven’t read many contemporary books, but I do like Sally Rooney. I’m a 23-year-old guy.
