I read in the living room. It's a very small living room but it's a cozy one. There is a fireplace, I have my pet next to me, and I usually have a drink when I read, occasionally alcoholic but often non-alcoholic. I read slowly. Sometimes even more slowly, if I want to make sure I'm really savoring the words and meaning.
Unlike some people I know, I never read on the bus. Too distracting for me. I am easily distracted anyways so even the library is not good. I was sitting next to someone who was tutoring another person and the fact that they were whispering made me pay attention to them even more and despite trying very hard, gave up trying to do my own reading. And it's always something, somebody's phone ringing, the librarian or security coming by (we got a lot of homeless around here), etc.
When the weather is good, I occasionally read in the park, but even there I often get distracted. But there is this park close to my apartment, and that's a 10 minute walk, and I go there when neighbors are being noisy or I'm just tired of being home all day.
But right now I got the fireplace going. Yeah it's a bit early, we're still in October but who cares, it makes me feel all warm and happy inside. And I got my book on my lap and a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows and a piece of carrot cake. Why not.
What about you?
P.S. the book I'm reading is A Man Called Ove, which was recommended to me before but I never got a chance to read it.

I read in my bed at night. I also like to read on my boat or at the beach in the summer.
On porch with AM coffee
Epub on phone. Anywhere, anytime.
In bed, kindle filled with epubs, brightness 4 warmth 20
There are only a few books or magazines I can read on public transport. Investment magazines are okay, or some superficial, fun books. But usually, I watch YouTube on public transport. (I have YouTube premium and noise-cancelling headphones for that). Then, it’s a bit like on the plane where you have your small monitor.
I used to read lying flat on my stomach for as long as I can remember. But in recent years, my body hasn’t been happy with that position any more (tingling fingers). I now have a special armchair for reading those books that need no note-taking. And if I have to take notes, I read right here, on my desk chair. Holding the pages of the book open with my phone (which has just the right size and weight) and noting down something, when necessary. (I’m reading a book by Hannah Arendt now, and that one does require notes.)
Book or Kindle on public transit, during my kid’s swim class, weekly trip to the library, and before bed.
Pretty much wherever. 🫡
