Do you have any recommendations for older novels where the female protagonist comes behind a family secret or something that happened in her childhood/ regarding her origins? Such as missing parent, was swapped as a baby or just other interesting family twists? Would be great if the female protagonist was complex or well developed. It can be dark and actually any genre but bonus points if it has a little bit of romance. I would be happy to discover hidden gems!
