I’m looking for a book that gives off strong Star Wars vibes. Space adventure, cool worldbuilding, maybe some philosophy or deeper reflection mixed in.
-Not Dune or Foundation
-Totally fine if it’s actually set in the Star Wars universe.
-Bonus points if the story has some philosophical or reflective themes — like exploring morality, destiny, or the nature of power.
thank you !

Go way back to E. E. Doc Smith. He was a huge influence on Star Wars and the whole “space opera” genre. His “Lensman” series starts with “Triplanetary.” I wasn’t a fan of his “Skylark of Space” series but did enjoy the “Family de l’Ambert” series he co-wrote with Stephen Goldin.
If you want something more modern, I recommend Anne Leckie’s trilogy beginning with “Ancillary Justice.”
