I've finished "Empire of Pain" and "Trust Me, I'm Lying" 3 times and love both of them. 'Unbelievable' by T. Christian Miller is also an absolutely insane read that blends all three perspectives so well. Now I'm looking for something new that I can sink my teeth into. Something that analyses, deconstructs and gives you a peek behind the curtain of an industry or company. Loved how educational each chapter was, just poking holes in what they were talking about and exploring how bleak or frankly fucked up an industry is. I'd also be open to just getting an in-depth look into an industry without it being a bummer. I just want to read a full expansion of a topic and dive into the topic by someone who is extremely educated and well-read on a topic. I'd love to see how a journalist can really dig deep and show off their skills and expertise in what they do. Any suggestions or recommendations are welcome

Not an industry per se, but Stiff by Mary Roach was fascinating. It’s an in depth look at the history, view and treatment of dead bodies around the world. She’s got a few others that are well reviewed also.
