Not sure about iconic, but my favorites are Little Witch Hazel, the Tomten, and Wild.

      Well, my favourites were…

      – The Tiger Who Came To Tea

      – The Enormous Chocolate Pudding (might be very hard to get hold of)

      – There’s a Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake

      – Cornelius

      – The Dragon’s Egg (Puddle Lane book)

And ‘If You Give a Mouse a Cookie’ of course, but you already have that one.

(Side note: I realise these days that my lifelong love of food, and sweet food in particular, was evident very early on in my book preferences xD)

    3. I don’t know how many other people have read these, but: Round Robin and Treehorn’s Treasure.

My kids liked The Dead Bird, by Margaret Wise Brown (author of Goodnight Moon). Also liked Zin! Zin! Zin! a Violin! By Lloyd Moss.

    7. Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel. Also any of the other Virginia Lee Burton books, but that one is my favorite.

    8. My favorite kid’s book as a kid was called “But No Elephants” which is about a granny who adopts every animal in a zoo, but refuses to adopt the elephant because he is too big. But then winter comes, and she finally lets the elephant come into her home from the snow. The elephant accidentally destroys her house and eats her food, and the elephant feels so bad, so he picks up the whole house and walks it to the beach.

This is not one of the most iconic books or anything, I just love it on a personal level so much

    9. As a kid, my favorite short books were Stella Nona and The Old Woman Who Lived in a Vinegar Bottle. My favorite longer books were Charlotte’s Web and anything animal like Black Beauty

    10. Mr Tiger Goes Wild by Peter Brown

Du Iz Tak? by Carson Ellis

TBH, I hate The Rainbow Fish and I think it sends the wrong message. The fish diminishes his (her?) own unique sparkle because it makes the other fish uncomfortable.
