Classics for rest of the year

I just read The Secret Garden for the first time after it was widely recommended here, i agree it's a lovely book. I haven't read many Western classics, I grew up reading African authors. I'd like to read another 3 such Western classics. I'm overwhelmed by the suggestions. If you only had one to choose, which one would recommend? (Kindly just one book)
