I read a lot of Regency Romance and many characters either mention or participate on the war "on the peninsula". I know of course the basics from school but it was decades ago and not very in-depth (I'm from LATAM and European wars are just a very small section of history class) so I'd like a book to get better understanding of the war.
I don't want to ask on the Romance sub because over there is mostly, well, novels.

*The Campaigns of Napoleon* by David G. Chandler, but it’s not under 400 pages.
*The Napoleonic Wars: A Very Short Introduction* by Mike Rapport
