Looking for something light, not too dramatic with a satisfying ending. So no big racial injustice, sexism, wrongfully accused person being in prison, etc. I want it to be as far away from the real world issues as possible while still being a murder mystery.

Bonus points if the protagonist is not an extremely wealthy man and it is not set in a privileged little town where murders never happen.

I don’t know if this makes sense?

So searching for a murder mystery with vibes that are polar opposite to reddit front page.

    1. I just read The Murders in Great Diddling and it sounds like it would fit exactly what you’re looking for. I was trying to find something a little lighter but not fluff. It turns out there’s an award for “cozy mysteries” and this won it recently. I really liked it and have the authors second book with the same FMC on hold at the library.

    2. Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers and its sequel Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping by Jessie Q Sutanto
