Hey everyone! It is officially that time where I start picking out my 2026 TBR (Yay)!
I've been reflecting a lot on what I enjoyed from some of this year's reads and some of them have this in common: traveling. Here's two books I really enjoyed in particular:
- People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry. This, in my opinion, was my least favorite of Henry's books. However, I really enjoy the vacation/traveling aspect of it. I liked that the characters were discovering new places and that the book moved around the world a lot rather than staying in one specific spot.
- Tusk Love by Thea Guanzon. Love, love, loved this book so much! I've started to get into D&D and this was a perfect entry-level novel about it. However, I loved that this book was simply about traveling in a low-stakes fantasy. I enjoyed that we saw all these new places, cultures, etc through the eyes of a very curious main character.
In other words, I'd like book recommendations that are either contemporary romances or low-stakes fantasies. I'd love for there to be traveling in it where they go to multiple places throughout the book. A sense of wonder and curiosity from the main character would be nice and I would like there to be exploration of new cultures, foods, activities, etc.
Perhaps this is too much to ask for, but if the book only meets one of those, that's okay! I just want something that feels similar to what I read in these novels.
Thanks in advance!
