In an attempt to expand my reading background and explore different genres and writing styles I am asking for a short list of top 3 books you think everyone should read. For reference some of the books I read this year: Wild seed, Stoner, Mistborn

kind of random but diff yet influential writing styles and an example of a memoir
For classics, I think you should read Les Miserables. The themes in there still resonates today, I think more now than ever.
For Fantasy, you should Try The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb, it’s probably the best well-written fantasy I have ever read.
For Mystery, try Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. It’s timeless in its own right.
For Science Fiction/Horror, try 11/22/63 by Stephen King, it’s possibly Stephen King’s best work.
