Since I was a child being read to by my parents I've almost exclusively consumed fantasy books, with self-improvement stuff and textbooks making up a tiny fraction. Most recently I've almost finished The Wandering Inn, a fantasy series and web serial of prodigious length.
I came to the realization that I've only seen a fraction of the beautiful books on offer and I shouldn't keep siloing myself.
My request is this: recommend a book in any genre other than pure fantasy (or pure horror, horror or fantastical elements are fine). You can pick using any criteria. Im not just looking for genre entry points with mass appeal. It can be your favorite, your mom's favorite, a great entry into an unusual genre, or just a really cool book. Try and teach me something, change my view, or my life. I'll seriously consider every suggestion that includes a brief explanation of why you picked it, and get back to you if I read it!
