I really enjoy books where there is this world of fantasy or even sci-fi that collides with the vanilla real world and characters are trapped between or have to navigate the two worlds. Or books that mix the modern vanilla world with magic/fantasy. Some recent books I have really enjoyed in that type of genre; The Night Circus, White Trash Warlock, Neverwhere, Book of Night, The Lesser Dead.
I also liked the concept of the movie Bright on Netflix, just not the execution so much. Any recommendations? TIA.
