I run into this with so many fantasy books. I love fantasy in theory, but I often struggle with the writing style or I feel like it's just "not my type" of fantasy.
I am currently struggling with "Nightfall in the Garden of Deep Time" by Tracy Higley. I have seen hundreds of people recommend this title and the synopsis felt like it was going to be just right for me, but I'm having trouble getting into it.
Does this ever happen to you? Do you end up feeling like the problem is you, that you aren't doing something right or your mindset must be messed up somehow? 🤣

Hyperion. Trying to finish it, but it’s a slog.
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. I tried so hard to enjoy it. I finished the book but it took a lot.
I am astonished how many people loved Remarkably Bright Creatures.
Any Stephen King book for some reason. I can start them, but I always magically lose interest somewhere in the first third of the book.
Normal People bored me to tears. I think I may have been moderately less sympathetic because I’m gay—obviously I understood the element of classism and popularity, but I was still mostly like, “why are these straight people just dancing around dating each other and getting in their own way for years?” A shame, because Sally Rooney the person seems very cool.
Catch-22
Considered a classic. I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe I should give it one more shot.
The Alchemist
The picture of dorian gray. I dont understand why so many people list it as their favorite book. I feel like I have to reread it because I only thought it was ok
I only really care about what I want and like to read.
ACOTAR. On paper, this series is perfect for me. I read the first book. It just didn’t grab me.
Maybe you’re not that much into reading?
