Hello! My teenage (13m) son was recently diagnosed with ADHD. He finds it very hard to concentrate on a book, but he needs to read to improve all the skills that you learn while reading.

I've searched online for suggestions, and most are books about this condition aimed at teens. He's not interested in reading about ADHD.

He says he enjoyed Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I think the graphic layout, with lots of drawings and short chapters helped him. However, most books in this style seem to be aimed at younger readers.

    I would love some suggestions.

We have tried comic books, and some mangas have worked really well for him, but we need him to also read actual books to help him enhance how he expresses himself in writing.

    Thank you!

      Harry Potter

Series of Unfortunate Events – also has a really good Netflix adaptation so we celebrated every finished book by watching the 2 episodes that went with the book

What kind of things is he into? What genre is he looking for? Fiction or nonfiction? Does he have any hyperfixations that he would willingly read about? Would he prefer a novel or short stories?
