Hello all 🙂 I love what I like to call "Unhinged Historical Fiction". Some books that I've enjoyed that I consider in this category are:
- Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito
 - Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh
 - When We Lost Our Heads by Heather O'Neill

I'm not big on movies, but something like The Favourite, if that helps with suggestions for books. Thanks in advance!

This book didn’t make it bigger splash when it got published, but I don’t know why not, it’s unhinged in the best way.
So the great writer Henry James and his philosopher brother William James did have two brothers who died in the Civil War. This book posits the possibility that the two of them survived the war, headed West, and became famous as Frank and Jesse James. What if that happened, and the younger brothers came back and forced their older brothers to join them in the Great Northfield Bank Raid?
It’s a joy.
Our Hideous Progeny is inspired by Frankenstein.
